Project Candyland: Edible Engineering Meets Applied Science
We're calling all innovators! Project Candyland is a unique challenge that integrates core academic skills with creativity and fun!
Students will go beyond the textbook to learn and apply their knowledge in a few key ways:
Physics & Engineering
Creating stable structures, overcoming challenges with materials through careful design. Considering tension and compression, torque and gravity, strain and elasticity.
Math
Mastering measurements, understanding volume and mass, and considering geometry in a hands-on application.
Chemistry & Food Science
Understanding the properties of different materials and the weird ways edible components will behave and interact.
Architecture
Showing artistry and creativity, while taking into account the structural needs for stability.
It’s the perfect competition to learn by doing, building a stronger foundation (literally!) in STEM while having fun. It’s the sweetest competition.
